The GSyC/LibreSoft research group at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), the CETTICO research group at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and Telefonica R&D, as founding members of the MORFEO community, announce the creation of the Spanish QualiPSo Open Source Competence Centre based in this community.
This is announced in the Open Source World Conference (OSWC 2008) in Málaga, Spain the 20th and the 22nd of October.
The QualiPSo project, funded by the European Commission under the Sixth Framework Program, includes the GSyC/LibreSoft research group at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) and Telefonica R&D among its members. These two, together with the CETTICO group from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) are founders of the MORFEO community and permanent members of its Board of Direction. This creates a strong link between the recently created competence centre and this community.
The negotiation round for the signing of the agreement that will start the competence centre is in a very advanced state and the services offered by the centre to the industry, the academia and the general public, trough the MORFEO community are supported by years of experience of the partners in these areas. These services will be offered using resources from this community and from related entities, promoting this way the healthy grow of MORFEO for a fruitful relation with the market.
