Los días 8 y 9 de Mayo se celebró la fase final del II Concurso Universitario de Software Libre. Este año, la comunidad MORFEO ha colaborado de forma activa concediendo el premio “Comunidad Morfeo”, con una cuantía de 6000€, al proyecto que ha recibido mejores críticas. Asimismo, la comunidad ha participado realizando una ponencia en las jornadas celebradas durante la fase final del concurso y ha formado parte del comité evaluador por medio de Andrés Leonardo Martínez.

Telefónica attended this conference held from 15 to 17 February and organized by the Regional Governments of Andalusia and Extremadura, where it presented some of its open software initiatives.

Juan José Hierro, Telefónica I+D’s Director of IT Platforms, presented the MORFEO Community at the “Projects Developed in Open Software” theme session. Download the presentation here.

Additionally, an interview with Álvaro Sainz-Pardo, Telefónica Empresas’ Associate Director of the Department of Business Performance Management Solutions, was published in the official journal of the conference, explaining his view of the application of open software in the business world and outlining the Morfeo community’s goals.

The MORFEO community will present its project at the 5^th Andalusian Open Software Conference to be held at the University of Cordoba on 4, 5 and 6 November.

The talk, which is scheduled for Friday 4 at 16:00, is to be delivered by Álvaro Sainz Pardo (Telefónica Soluciones) and Juan A. Cáceres (Telefónica I+D).
